Ontario
Association of Basketball Officials The
name of this organization shall be the ONTARIO ASSOCIATION OF
BASKETBALL OFFICIALS, hereinafter referred to as the OABO. The
OABO shall also fill the role as the Provincial (State) Board of
the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF APPROVED BASKETBALL OFFICIALS,
hereinafter referred to as IAABO PROVINCIAL BOARD 102. The
OABO will be affiliated with the Ontario Basketball Association
(OBA), the Canadian Association of Basketball Officials (CABO),
and the International Association
of Basketball Officials (IAABO). To organize, unite, and educate all basketball officials in the Province of Ontario. Canada. To
act as the official spokesman for basketball officials within the
province on any and all provincial matters pertaining to
basketball officiating. To
promote a standard interpretation of the rules and utilization of
mechanics by means of clinics, published information, audiovisual
aids, and the interchange of officials. To
ensure that members are free from discrimination, interference,
restriction, coercion, harassment, intimidation or disciplinary
action exercised or practiced by a member or Local Board, by
reason of race, colour, age, national or ethnic origin, political
or religious affiliation, handicap, sex or sexual orientation. To
work with the following organizations to promote the development
of basketball: Basketball Canada; Ontario Basketball Association
(OBA); Ontario Federation
of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA); Ontario Universities
Athletic Association (OUAA); Ontario Women's Intercollegiate
Athletic Association (OWIAA);
Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA); Ontario Wheelchair
Basketball Association (OWBA); International Association of
Approved Basketball Officials
(IAABO); Canadian Association of Basketball Officials (CABO); and
National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA). |
